ARTIST STATEMENT

As a sculptor, my practice develops at the intersection of ceramics and multimedia language. My work has evolved into an archaeological and pedagogical quest, where the study of archaeological, traditional, and contemporary Latin American ceramic practices allows me to rethink the message of ancestral peoples: a worldview of unity and interconnection, where nature and humanity do not exist as separate entities.

My work is intrinsically narrative; each piece is a vessel for stories, feelings, and reflections on my own migratory experience. Through my sculpture, I seek to dignify the act of migration, framing it as a natural, fluid, and necessary movement shared with multiple species on the planet. In this visual universe, I draw upon the archetype of divinity and the Goddess to symbolize the transcendence of our existence and our cultural heritage.

In recent years, my research has expanded into the technology of sound objects in ceramics. These pieces are not merely contemplative; they are objects that invite interaction through sound or the act of being worn, integrating the sculpture directly onto the human body.

Finally, I understand ceramics as a deeply collective process. My role as an educator constantly nourishes my artistic proposal; the archaeological and technical research I conduct not only feeds my personal work but is transformed into shared knowledge. For me, the artistic object is a bridge of learning and a living link between museum spaces, the classroom, and the community.
